Keyword Elite is one of those tools that gets recommended a lot by PPC Coach members. It is especially useful for generating tons of keywords for your CPA polls. So it intrigued me quite a bit, when I got an email from Keyword Elite developer Brad Callen announcing the launch of Keyword Elite 2.0 on August 25th. I am a little disappointed that existing Keyword Elite users are not going to be getting the upgrade for free. Still if it reviews well and we get a decent discount, I will probably end up getting it anyway.

Here are some of the planned new features of Keyword Elite 2.0

• Brand new, Web 2.0 look and feel.
• Ad spy functionality that lets you view competitor’s Adwords ads from the past 6 months.
• An Adsense targeting tool for finding other sites in your niche which use Adsense.
• A JV tool which finds sites that have opt-in lists which may lead to partnership opportunities.
• A CPA tool for finding converting CPA offers.
• 10x faster than the old version of Keyword Elite.
• Multi-threaded which gives it the ability to run many projects at one time.
• Competition strength indicator that tells you whether you should enter a specific niche.

It looks like it incorporates a lot of functionality from other existing tools out there like PPC Bully, Adwords Digger, and Market Samurai but hopefully Brad can tie it all together into an easy to use package. I hope the speed improvements pan out, as I always found Keyword Elite to be a little on the slow side.

As part of the Keyword Elite 2.0 pre-launch, Brad Callen also wrote up a free report called The Keyword Minute which he is using to help promote his software. I just downloaded and read it, and I was honestly surprised that it contained some actual useful information.

In the report, are three methods to make money online which can be done manually, but can also be automated using the new features in Keyword Elite 2.0. I actually might incorporate a couple of the techniques on my sites, so I think it is a worthwhile read, even if you aren’t planning on purchasing Keyword Elite 2. One of the methods focuses on PPC which I think many PPC Coach members will find helpful. The report is only 36 pages long and you can skim through and read it in under 30 minutes.

I wanted to do a case study for some PPC Coach members I chat with, so I have decided to take this opportunity and setup a Keyword Elite 2 review site. UPDATE: My StatsJunky Second Impression

Stay FAR FAR away from StatsJunky. I’ve owned the program 8 months now and as it stands now, the program is currently next to useless. Many of the major services don’t work anymore like Facebook and Trafficvance which are two of the major traffic sources I’d expect any stats tracking program to work with. Not only that, but StatsJunky support is completely terrible as well. I’ve sent in several support requests and they always take forever to respond. And when they do finally do, they never actually handle your issue like they say they will.

Supposedly, they are coming out with a new version of StatsJunky that will fix everything. However, I don’t trust these guys at all, and I would not recommend them in the future, no matter how good their next version is. They promised me a fix for Traffic Vance several months ago and they could never deliver. Why should I trust them to fix it now? Please don’t waste your money on StatsJunky. If you’re looking for an alternative, try StatsRemote.

I was reading the PPC Coach forums today, and I saw Will posted a note about a piece of software called StatsJunky. They are currently having a birthday special over the next few days where you can get a lifetime license to StatsJunky for $297. It normally runs $99 a month, so that seemed a compelling enough reason to try it out.

So, what is StatsJunky? Basically it is a Windows program that you run on your own computer and pulls your stats from all your different affiliate accounts. If you are a big time affiliate marketer, you know what a pain it can be to login to each of your dozens of affiliate and PPC accounts everyday to check your stats. StatsJunky solves this problem by retrieving this data for you automatically and making it accessible to you. By having this information in one place, you can save time and be able to check out your stats whenever you want.

Adding your affiliate accounts to the program is pretty straightforward. Basically you just need to select your network from a dropdown and then specify your username and password. StatsJunky clearly states on its site that it does not access your account info at all, for those who are worried about that. All your information is stored on your computer, and not on a third-party server. I found that StatsJunky supported all of the major affiliate and PPC networks that I was a part of, but if you find a network is missing, you can request to have it added from within the program itself.

Retrieving my stats seemed a little slow. It took about 15 minutes to pull down about 6 months worth of data for my Commission Junction account. Also, it wasn’t immediately obvious to me, but you can see the status of the update by hovering over the icon in the status column. They really should make it standout more with a progress bar or something because my first impression was that it was stuck. My other complaint is that it was unable to retrieve any data from my TrafficVance account. I sent them an email, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to respond.

I’ve played with StatsJunky for a couple of hours now and I have a mostly positive impression of it so far. I’ve found a few quirks, but I really like the idea of being able to retrieve and see my revenues and cost data in one place. It definitely is not for everyone, but if you do business with a lot of affiliate networks, a program like StatsJunky could be a huge timesaver. I doubt I would pay $99 a month for the program, but at $297, it seems a lot more reasonable.
